Improving the Quality Control Process

Visual quality control is an important manufacturing work process to ensure product quality. Currently many manufacturing companies still take a manual approach to performing these tasks which makes the work process inefficient due to the subjectivity and the inconsistency of inspection results. To improve manufacturing product quality and work efficiency, Google developed Visual Inspection AI products which could help automate this work process. In this session, we will share Google’s experience of applying computer vision AI technologies to improve the quality control process and the longer term vision to transform the industry using this technology.

Ying Fei is a Product Manager of Google Cloud Visual Inspection AI who has been focusing on building AI solutions for enterprise customers to transform the business in traditional industries. The Visual Inspection AI products she and her team built has been proven to help manufacturing enterprise customers save cost and improve work efficiency in the real production environment. Ying is also one of the lead PMs who launched Google Cloud’s AutoML Vision products which have been ranked top when Forrester evaluated all computer vision products offered by Cloud providers in 2019.
