Reed is an engineer at Flint Energies, an electric cooperative located in central Georgia. He received his Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Mercer University and has been working in SCADA and automation since day 1 of his career, leading the rollout of Flint’s distribution automation system in an effort to reduce outage time. Reed focuses on using the vast amount of operational data available from existing assets to improve safety and efficiency in the control room, as well as aid in system planning.

As we move into a more connected and digitalized era there are many reasons why companies need to modernize the way they interface with and use their SCADA systems. Examples include, customer satisfaction, regulation, efficiency and safety.
